Everyone is required to abide by the rules set by the library. The indicated periods of loan must be strictly observed to avoid breach of availability, protect integrity of the collection, and update records of the library holdings. User must also ensure that the materials they are using are handled properly.
Are set to ensure the return of the material, avoid mutilation, theft, and loss of resources.
A fine of Php 5.00/day is charged for failure to return a circulation book on its due date.
All appeals/instances of the waiving of fees be done solely by a decision made by the head librarian. All patrons (students, faculty, non-teaching staff, and administration) who deem themselves qualified for a waiver must approach the head librarian in order for the waiver to be applied at her discretion. The following circumstances are qualified for waiving:
Victim of Calamities/Force majeure - users who are affected by natural and man-made disasters, such as flood, earthquake, fire, are allowed to request for waivers, provided that they have proof of their claim such as a police report, barangay certification and other similar legal documents.
Health Conditions - those who are suffering from extreme health conditions that hinder them from returning the borrowed materials may also avail of request for a waiver provided that they present a medical certificate. The nature of illness will be considered in giving the waiver.
In cases where the patron loses the resource that he/she has loaned he/she will be obligated to replace the material with the same title (same edition, same copyright etc.). If unable to procure the exact copy of the lost resource, a replacement with another title recommended by the librarian may, with the approval of the head librarian will be accepted.
Declaration of Loss – It is necessary that the patron immediately inform the librarian-in-charge of the loss of the material in order to halt the continued increase of overdue fines one may incur as a result of not having returned the material at the appointed time. Failure to declare the loss obligates the student to pay any accrued overdue fines. Failure to replace the lost book also obligates the student to pay the current cost of the book.
Any library user who defaces, mutilates, or steals any library material or property shall be subject to disciplinary action and the case shall be referred to the Student Affairs Office.
A library patron who fails or refuses to settle his/her outstanding library account at the end of every semester will not be given clearance by the library. Students who are not cleared by the library will not be allowed to continue with their enrollment (if a continuing student), receive their diplomas upon graduation, or receive an honorable dismissal. Timely settlement of library accounts is strongly encouraged.
Reminders:
Do not leave things and belongings unattended. The library staff will no tbe responsible for any loss or damge to any belongings that have been left unattended.
For security purposes, left behind belongings will be turned over to the Security Personnel on duty.
The reading areas in the library are quiet-zone areas. Making noise, having loud conversation, eating and drinking within the library premises are strictly prohibited.
Only student wearing the prescribed CEU daily uniforms may be allowrd inside the Library and cell phone must be set to silent mode.
Doing makeup inside a library is generally considered inappropriate and discouraged. Any student violating this rule shall be penalized according to the University system of discipline.
The library reserves the right to give due sanction to any violation of the policies stated herein. Violators will be given due process, and penalties will be applied accordingly. Penalties may range from those outlined in the policy, to suspension of library privileges, and any other such actions subject to student disciplinary action by the library head in coordination with the Vice President for Student Affairs.
All library units have the right to refuse grant of access, on the grounds of any grave misconduct, violation of the rules and regulations of the library, and other such lawful circumstances as determined by the librarian-in-charge.
